Residential Advisor

The RA application deadline has been extended to April 30, 2010.

The RA Internship program provides a unique leadership opportunity for college, graduate students, and young professionals interested in education, youth mentoring, and community service. We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic self-starters who are passionate about working with youth and helping youth gain an understanding of Chinese-American history and identity and developing the next generation of Chinese-American leaders.

Prior experience working with teenagers and leadership experience is preferred. Flexibility, open-mindedness, and a positive attitude are necessary.

RA responsibilities will include:
  • Mentoring high school students grades 9-12 and participating in all activities with them
  • Leading workshops and afternoon elective classes (arts, crafts, sports, or your expertise)
  • Helping students create and put together an art project exhibit
  • Assisting in the day-to-day running of the camp
  • Running evening activities (e.g. Casino Night, Games Night, Movie Night, Talent Show)
  • Chaperoning field trips

This year’s program will be held from Sunday, July 25 to Saturday, July 31 at Regis College in Weston, MA.

NECYSC is in compliance with 105 CMR 430.00 (State Sanitary Code, Chapter IV, Minimum Sanitation and Safety Standards for Recreation for Children)
Volunteers of NECYSC who have unsupervised contact with children are subject to a Criminal Offender Record Investigation (CORI)
and Sexual Offender Record Investigation (SORI) as required by M.G.L. c. 6, § 172G
NECYSC is granted a license and permit to operate a camp for children in the Town of Weston.
