Hello NECYSC families,

It is with much excitement and anticipation that we announce the summer camp program for New England Chinese Youth Summer Camp (NECYSC), Aug 2 - 6, 2021. This marks the 35th year that NECYSC hosts such a program providing an environment to bring together youth who are interested in Chinese culture and Chinese community.

Given the ongoing pandemic and lingering uncertainties, we have made the following modifications to our in-person summer program. Campers aged between 6 and 14 years old may apply to the Day Camp. Groups will be formed based on campers' age. For those between 14 and 16, we will have an ExplorAsian day program. Regrettably, overnight programs will have to take a pause for this year due to a variety of factors. We look forward to resuming the overnight programs next year.

The main objective of this year's camp is to provide a safe, fun and inclusive environment. To that end, we will take a number of measures to ensure the safety of our campers, parents and staff members. Some of the steps include having dedicated medical staffs on site, eliminating POD (Parent On Duty), and requiring campers to bring their own lunch. We realize that the last point will be inconvenient for campers and parents during busy mornings. But on balance, we believe the benefits outweigh the disadvantages and will provide us with maximum flexibility in operating the camp this year.

Again, a warm welcome to everyone and thank you all for your patience as we navigate through the uncertainties and challenges. Online registration is now officially open. We look forward to a great camp this year.

Best,

NECYSC 2021 Committee
