Hello NECYSC families,

To camp or not to camp. That was the question staring at us not long ago. As the camp comes to a conclusion, we are proud to say that we, along with the entire committee, made the right decision. Seeing the exuberant faces of our campers and staff is the best reward we could ask for.

With everything that's happening in the world, this has been an uncertain time for all of us. What is certain, however, is our unwavering commitment to the needs, safety and well-being of our campers, staff and committee members.

Due to the new circumstances, we were literally "crossing the river by feeling the stone." We had many challenges running camp this year, which we overcame with much creativity and, most importantly, team work!

The Weekbook, in and of itself, is a testimony to the effort poured into this by all teams on the committee. We'd like to take this opportunity to especially thank the Head Counselors team, which took on an outsized share of the work for both planning and execution throughout this process. The result is self-evident. We'd also like to thank members of the medical team, without whom this camp would not materialize this year.

Even though the camp week ends today, we will soon kick into high gear to start planning for next year. Speaking of which, our next camp has been tentatively scheduled for the week of July 31 to Aug 6, 2022. It is our intent to resume the overnight program.

Have a safe, healthy, and relaxed summer. We hope to see you all next year.
