Hello NECYSC families,

First and foremost, let all of us at NECYSC wish that you and your family good health during this difficult time.

It is with much regret that we announce the cancellation of our annual summer camp for this year. This is the first time in the 34-year history of NECYSC that we have had to cancel our camp, and it certainly was not an easy decision to reach.

After careful consideration and out of an abundance of caution, the NECYSC Committee concluded that this is the right thing to do given the risk and uncertainty caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Our guiding principle in making this difficult decision was protecting the safety and well-being of our campers, parents, and staff members.

We know that many of our campers might be disappointed by this decision. Please know that we understand and that we share their disappointment. In order to maintain camp connections and celebrate Chinese culture this summer, our Head Counselor team has graciously offered to assess the feasibility of hosting online activities to provide an environment where fellow campers and staff can connect with each other virtually. There would be no charge for those online activities, details of which will be provided in subsequent communications. Please let us know your initial interest by filling out this Google Form. If you have ideas for online activities and opportunities, please feel free to reach out to the Head Counselors directly.

We appreciate your understanding and support. We look forward to meeting you virtually during the summer and in person next year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best wishes and stay safe and healthy!

Sincerely,

2020 NECYSC Directors
